It is ya, it really dose make your job as a therapist way easier physically and also on an emotional level.
if your anything like me, its hard not to take on your clients daily problems and uo]ps and downs. its completely normal to feel what they go though to a certain extent. This is hy we are drawn to this type of work, however we can not sustain absorbing each and every persons emotions and energy every day.
This is when I realised the breath can help, I knew it was my next step in helping my clients. We started by incorporating more of the breath into our Lomi Lomi work and then into most of our massages and treatments.
The results are incredible, our clients then started to feel more joy, more happiness and more calm in their everyday life.
So YES is the short answer, help your clients on a deeper level with Breathwork.
What is Breathwork?
In modern life, more and more people experience significant amounts of stress. When you are in ‘flight or flight’ mode, your body responds by increasing your heart rate and releasing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Your breathing speeds up, your blood pressure increases and you start to feel anxious or tense.
Breathwork is a general term used to describe controlled breathing: exercises that improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. By activating your parasympathetic nervous system, you are able to slow down your heart rate, lower your blood pressure and create a real sense of calm.
Breathwork can help the mind as well as the body. It alleviates mental chatter and can, in a safe way, help access buried emotions, trauma and grief. Breathwork techniques work well for a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety and stress.
